If you love Doritos brand tortilla chips, then you'll love this super easy recipe. With just a few ingredients and a little time, this is a recipe that even the kids can make and you'll know exactly what's in them. I won’t call this a copy-cat recipe but it certainly is a contender. You can modify the spices to make them spicy, ranch, taco and more. Happy snacking!!
Equipment
- 1 sharp knife
- 1 set measuring cups and spoons
- 2 small bowls
- 1 or 2 large cookie sheet
- 1 pastry brush optional
- 1 gallon size zipper bag
Ingredients
- 8 6 inch corn tortillas
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp cheddar cheese powder
- 4 tsp chili powder
- 4 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉ (176.6℃)
- Pour oil into a small bowl and use a pastry brush to brush oil on each side of the corn tortillas. Stack the tortillas after brushing with oil and cut them into 4 equal sections.
- Add parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese powder, chili powder, smoked paprika and salt into a gallon size zipper bag and shake to completely coat all tortilla pieces. You can use your fingers on the outside of the bag to rub the seasonings into the tortillas.
- Put the chips on the cooking sheets without overlapping and bake for 10- 15 minutes, checking them often to make sure they don't burn.
- Remove from oven and let cool. The chips will get crispy as they cool.

Notes
These chips can be spiced up or the flavor changed based on your personal preference. Below are two options we enjoy.
Taco Nachos - replace the chili powder with taco seasoning
Ranch Nachos - replace the powdered cheddar, chili powder and smoked paprika with powdered ranch seasoning mix
