Homemade Taco Sauce
This easy to make taco sauce is great to make in small batches for use for the weekend get-together or triple it up to make and can for your pantry. Having the basics on the shelf is important, but having delicious homemade condiments adds that extra YUM to your meal! We enjoy making this with our end of season red tomatoes but you can even make this with canned tomato puree if necessary. (Prep time will be reduced to 5 minutes if using canned tomato puree)

You can use your homegrown tomatoes, tomatoes from a farmer's market or store or even store bought canned tomato puree for this recipe.
If you prefer your taco sauce hotter, you can increase the chili powder and cayenne pepper to taste.
